About Green Lake Paint

Greetings,

My name is Scott Martens and I started painting after high school back in 2002. I worked for a large high end painting company in the metro and haven't put the brush away since. The first year I worked with that company, I never got to paint, it was all prep prep and more prep!! I have learned over the years everyone can paint, but not like a professional. Along the way I have worked with other contractors and learned new techniques and tricks for the ultimate results. I started Green Lake Paint in 2009 and have worked very hard to build my reputation within Kandiyohi County. I do very little advertising as roughly 85% of my business is based on referrals. I am very thankful for the great customers I have worked with!

I married my beautiful wife Abby who is a Spicer native in August of 2015. She is a special education teacher at Willmar High School. In Janurary 2017, we welcomed our first child, William! William is such a blessing and we love him, often I will take him with to bid projects. In 2019, we welcomed our 2nd child..Rosie.......Kids are AMAZING....I hope both deicde to help dad clean thos darn brushes as they get older!! :)

When I am not painting...I enjoy fishing, camping, and most of all catching a plane and going somewhere new with our family. I have been lucky enough to see much of our own country including many trips to Alaska. I've also been to Ireland, Banff, US Virgin Islands, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
